Wizards of the Coast is teasing some Candlekeep Mysteries plot hooks

With just under a month until the release of Wizards of the Coast’s Candlekeep Mysteries, the company behind Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition has been teasing out some of their upcoming plot hooks.

To say mysteries abound in the latest adventure anthology would be an understatement.

Wizards of the Coast’s Twitter account (@Wizards_DnD) has released details on just two of the 17-adventure line-up expected to be contained within the tome, which will be released to the public on March 16.

These two are Shemshime’s Medtime Rhyme, a Level 4 adventure by Ari Levitch, and Zikran’s Zephyrean Tome, a Level 10 adventure by Taymoor Rehman.

Here’s what the Dungeons and Dragons’ Twitter account had to say about the former: “A catchy and contagious rhyme traces back to a sinister clockwork book. Trapped in one of Candlekeep’s cellars, the characters must figure out the best way to stop the spread of this odd contagion.”

And here’s the write up for the latter: “A djinni trapped in a book offers a wish spell to adventurers to find a way to release him. The key to the djinni’s freedom lies with his former master, a mad wizard on the cusp of mastering elemental magic.”

With just 24 days to go until the official launch, we’re hopeful that more tidbits of information about the upcoming adventures will be dropped in a similar fashion in the weeks to come.

That list of writers on the new book includes Graeme Barber, Kelly Lynne D’angelo, Alison Huang, Mark Hulmes, Jennifer Kretchmer, Daniel Kwan, Adam Lee, Ari Levitch, Sarah Madsen, Christopher Perkins, Michael Polkinghorn, Taymoor Rehman, Derek Ruiz, Kienna Shaw, Brandes Stoddard, Amy Vorpahl, and Toni Winslow-Brill.

Candlekeep Mysteries retails for $50, and those hoping to get their hands on it ASAP can preorder on Amazon and save 30% — dropping the price down to $35. Preorders are also available at your local gaming stores and through Barnes & NobleBooks-a-MillionD&D BeyondFantasy Grounds, and Roll20.
