Deadline also stated that they heard from sources that Grant will be playing the antagonist of the film.

This will likely pit Grant against characters played by previously announced cast-members Chris Pine, Regé-Jean Page, Michelle Rodriguez, and Justice Smith.

The Dungeons and Dragons movie’s script has been written by Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley, who also worked on Spiderman: Homecoming.

Both men will be directing the movie as well, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

A document from HASBRO’s recent Virtual Investor Event gave an update on the Dungeons and Dragons movie, stating the D&D film “is preparing to start principal photography in Ireland.”

HASBRO also noted that it has “engaged several writers to develop premium television projects designed as a foundation for a new robust brand universe.”

IGN has reported that this latest attempt of bringing Dungeons and Dragons to the big screen will see the film in theatres on May 27, 2022.
