9 subreddits to check out for Dungeons and Dragons related content

If you’re looking for Dungeons and Dragons info, we got you covered.

While we’ve been trying our damnedest to populate this site with useful info about the TTRPG we all know and love, I’m just one guy and I’ve only got ten fingers to type with (and in reality, I’m only using like, seven of them).

So if you’re looking for even more D&D knowledge, I’ve got a few links to help you out.

Here are the subreddits you need to know about to get you started on your Dungeons and Dragons journey of knowledge and discovery:

r/DnD

Well, we obviously have to start big, don’t we. the DnD subreddit boasts 2.3 subscribers, making it the largest collection of Dungeons and Dragons players, DMs, and fans on the entire site. Covering all editions of the game, you’ll find photos, artwork, advice, questions, discussions, and more.

r/DungeonsandDragons

Much like r/DnD, DungeonsandDragons is a place for artwork, photos, and discussion about the game. With just 351,000 members, the posts are somewhat less frequent than it’s acronymed counterpart.

r/Dungeons_and_Dragons

Think of this as the little brother to the previous two groups, Dungeons_and_Dragons features similar content, though with just shy of 52,000 members, you may even find yourself recognizing some usernames if you frequent the comment sections.

r/DnDnext

While the previous three subreddits on our list allowed for posts about all editions of D&D, DnDnext focuses on just the 5th edition of the game. At 438,000 members strong, this is the place for anything 5th edition related; questions, answers, opinions — you name it.

r/rpg

The polar opposite of DnDnext’s restrictions, rpg covers D&D of all editions as well as other role playing games like Pathfinder and Star Wars RPG. Even though it veers away from D&D mechanics specifically, it still offers plenty of good advice on running games.

r/dndmemes

This is the place to go on reddit for all that D&D meme goodness. Many (if not all) of the previously mentioned subreddits have explicitly banned the posting of memes, so 711,000 members have come together in dndmemes to unload their humor. You may even find a D&D Dispatch meme or two in the archives if you look deep enough.

r/UnearthedArcana

Those who are interested in flexing their creative muscles and coming up with their own classes, races, spells, etc. for Dungeons and Dragons, these are your people! 164,000 members make for a sizeable group that shares their own D&D creations to be used in the game (with the DM’s permission, of course).

r/LFG

LFG, or Looking For Group, is the place to go if you’ve got everything you need to play D&D… except for the people. As with all friends made on the internet, it can be hit or miss, but the two-year long, five person, Level 16 campaign I personally DM for goes to show that putting a great group together from r/LFG can be done.

r/DMAcademy

For all you DMs out there, this subreddit is specifically for tips on how to corral those chaotic players and ensure that everyone has a good time playing at your table. 382,000 DMs (or would be DMs) can’t be wrong — because the DM is never wrong.
