Here’s how you can influence the direction of Dungeons and Dragons 5e

You don’t have to be an employee of Wizards of the Coast to have an influence on the direction of Dungeons and Dragons 5e.

This may come as old news to veteran players, but some newer fans of the TTRPG might not know that the company behind D&D is constantly releasing play-test material known in the community as “Unearthed Arcana” (UA).

When they release the play-test material, they also put out a survey for any players and DMs who may have used said material to fill out about how well (or not so well) the addition/alteration worked in their own games, and that information influences any changes that may be made before it reaches a published book.

While there are currently no UA surveys out that we know of, WotC has recently put out a general survey for all D&D players to fill out if they’d so like, which will help them decide on the direction that D&D goes in the future.

The survey can be found here, and has around 10 questions ranging from what kind of character you prefer to play to what you would rate your enjoyment of 5th Edition — and why.
