Hey all everybody.
I sent out a note to our newsletter subscribers explaining the situation (if you haven’t signed up, you can do so at the bottom of this page!) but then I realized I should probably just make this its very own Dispatch for the Readers At Large AKA you.
Hi! I’m still alive. Sorry I haven’t really been posting much over the past *checks watch* month or so.
I hope you can forgive me; I ended up getting another job.
Tragic, I know — for the readers, that is, because it’s actually a really good gig and having income again has been nice — because it turns out that working 9-5 reaaaaally eats into D&D content-creation time.
But there is some good news; I feel like I have my feet under me now after my first few weeks on the job, so there’s some mental capacity left over to keep creating this sweet sweet content for you all.
ALSO it looks like the site is picking up some consistent hits via organic Google traffic, which I wasn’t exactly expecting but it has been nice to see.
All this is to say that, while I very much will not be able to churn out those daily article that we saw back in the glory days of the D&D Dispatch, this site is also very much not dead, by any means.
It was making death saves, and this weekend was the nat 20 I needed to breath some life back into it.
So expect about an article or two a week, posted… whenever I can get around to it, honestly.
If you want to get notified of when a new article goes live, all you gotta do is subscribe to the newsletter, as I’ll be pushing it out whenever it is that I end up writing something.
Please forgive this mess of a posting schedule, but yeah I can’t really see myself locking into anything more concrete for the time being. And hey, it’s free, so quit complaining.
Also also, seeing as so much of my writing time has been stolen by my need to, you know, actually work and make money so I can eat, I am more than happy to take on freelance writers who may have something they want to say about D&D 5e.
…I mean I’m not going to pay you or anything (I don’t even get paid here, so come on) but it is pretty cool to have your work read by hundreds (potentially thousands!) of people. So if you’re interested just send a pitch over to dispatcher@dnddispatch.com.
Okay, I think that’s everything. Hope ya’ll are doing well, and may the dice gods smile down upon you.
