Check out this book of 100 new magic items for Dungeons and Dragons 5e

Sure, some people may plays Dungeons and Dragons to tell a collaborative story, to see character arcs to their satisfying end, or to throw some math rocks around to make then go clickity clackity.

But others play to get that sweet, sweet loot.

And there’s no better loot in the game of D&D than magic items.

Luckily enough for those players who have a fondness for the interesting doodads found throughout a D&D campaign (looking at you, Artificers), a supplement book was just dropped on Wednesday by veteran designer MT Black, who may be recognized as a co-creator on Baldur’s Gate: Descent Into Avernus and Mordenkainen’s Tome of Foes.

The recently released The Book of Wondrous Magic 5e is not an official Wizards of the Coast offering by any means, but given that its creator has had a hand in canon material, we’re sure that it’s a little more balanced than whatever homebrew items that one player insists on bringing into your games.

The digital book can be purchased online at drivethrurpg.com for $3.95, and contains items including the Thunderclap Dagger, the Glass of Sudden Respite, a Bottle of Sunlight, a Wand of Sleep, an Ironcloak, and around 95 more.

On item description offered is the Amulet of Heroic Host, a very rare wondrous item that requires attunement. According to the Book of Wondrous Magic 5e, the Amulet of Heroic Host “is shaped like a round shield with a lion’s head engraving, backed with a pair of crossed swords. While wearing it, you can use your action to speak the command word and summon the ‘heroic host,’ a group of ten warrior spirits from beyond the grave who appear in the nearest unoccupied spaces. These spirits use the veteran statistics and present as flesh and blood, though their skin is cold to the touch. They disappear after 1 hour, returning to the world from which they came.”

Not a bad way to spice up that campaign by giving your an exciting new boon, if you ask me.
